A 15 MMTPA state-of-the-art refinery is being operated by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a Schedule “A” Mini Ratna Central Public Sector Enterprise and subsidiary of ONGC Limited, in the picturesque hilly terrain north of Mangaluru city in the Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State. It also has a polypropylene unit with a 440 KTPA capacity and an aromatic complex that can produce 0.273 MMTPA of benzene and 0.905 MMTPA of paraxylene.
